Hi guys! If you've been reading my posts on Dayre, you'd know that life's been pretty exciting recently because I met someone :)

We've been going on dates either nearby our place (we live very near each other!) or to scenic spots like Woodlands Waterfront Park and Botanic Gardens because we both really enjoy nature. The other time he brought me to Keppel Bay and we saw such an amazing sunset!
Picture
Like this totally totally unreal sunset :')
So recently I decided to ask him along to check out Rochester Mall together, since it's a pretty new place plus theres lots of greenery all around - so chill!

If you don't already know, Rochester Mall is located right next to Buona Vista MRT! Super convenient even if you don't drive ;) We took a quick walk around the mall and it is literally surrounded by lush greenery at every corner! Totes love this place already!!

Really every corner!
If you're wondering who took this photo for us, Mahoo did. Haha totally invited her to crash our date only!

Photo op like everywhere.

There were also office buildings nearby, which makes this place the perfect dining spot for working professionals!
Picture
So many green spots even if you choose to grab a quick bite outdoors! If I were working in an office, I would totally look forward to lunch amidst all the trees! Is it work-life balance HAHA.

We also checked out the mall itself and there a pretty cool mix of tenants like enrichment schools such as KAAMP, Studio Harobee, Busy Tables and lifestyle services such as salons, nail parlours & fitness centres! So when the kids are having classes, the adults can go for a retreat and keep themselves engaged too! Endless activities for the young and old, perfect! ;)

I also saw this super cool art installation on one of the walls while taking the escalator:
Picture
They actually displayed real artworks done by students from one of the art schools! :)
After walking around for a bit, it was time to fill our bellies! We had  3 dining spots on our list and our first stop was Pies & Coffee!

This cafe was tucked in a quiet corner (located at Level 1) and has a pretty chill vibe. We saw a few students doing their work there too!

Mahoo was craving sweet drinks so we ordered the Iced Chocolate Cookie Frappe to share :) There was a pretty legit selection of pastries, desserts and hot food - mainly pies and sandwiches but this Lobster Bisque caught me eye cos jeng jeng jeng jeng:
Picture
It was served in a bread bowl!!! I love bread so I had to order this. And it did not disappoint! The lobster bisque was really tasty but could be less salty though haha. But the bread is full of win; crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside!

We also tried one of the bestsellers, the Chicken Cheddar Pie, which came with 2 sides so we chose corn chips & salad! :)

YAAAASSSSSS.

Bread soup ratio on point!

Loved the retro vibes of this place! Totally wanted to steal the cute coffee jar haha.

Second stop -  Cali Cafe & Bar!

Entrance of the cafe!
This place was still pretty quiet when we popped by, maybe because it was before dinner time. But it's okay cos I could take photos like crazy without getting judged LOL!

Love the cute seats at the alfresco dining area, especially those red chairs!

Cafe interior.
The cafe also had a pool table for guests to self-entertain while waiting for dishes to arrive! Pretty cool :)
Picture
These two totally wasted no time.
Picture
So happy to see them hang out :))
Picture
Is it very pro.
We were so engrossed with pool that we totally didn't realise our dishes arrived! Time for second round hooray! Ordered 2 dishes to share - Prawn & Asparagus Pasta and Striploin Steak!
Picture
Super appetising colours with this one!
Picture
The prawns were pretty fresh but I was a little  disappointed with the asparagus cos I prefer my asparagus to be thick & chunky! Pasta portion was also kind of small for the price we paid!

His steak was so much better; he ordered medium rare and it was well-prepared accordingly! Fries were so so so crispy too!
Picture
Perfectly charred grill lines.
Picture
Drizzling black pepper sauce on this piece of juicy cow!
Not really a beef person but he made me try a small piece. It was really juicy and tender! Both of them polished everything heh. But that wasn't enough to stop us from checking out our third and final stop for the day - Sixty40 Bar & Cafe!

Bar area.
Picture
We wanted to try legit bar food so we customised our own platter of Truffle Fries, Crunchy Wing and Spam Cubes! Also ordered the Sixty40 Burger cos greedy.

TOTALLY GOT A SHOCK WHEN THE FOOD ARRIVED.
Picture
The portion was hugeee!!
Picture
Chicken bun ratio totes on point.
Picture
The indoor lighting was a little dim for food photos so we brought everything outside to the alfresco dining area and let's just say it was a good decision hahaha!
Picture
YUM.
Picture
Mahoo volunteered to help take a photo of us enjoying the food but it was so hard to look straight into his eyes?! I kept laughing non-stop!!
Picture
Trust me we tried.
Picture
In the end we figured it would be better to pig out indoors cos #aircon lololol. Weather these days. Plus it was 4pm in the afternoon! Ok but really. Don't these two look like siblings instead! Small eyes all hahaha.
Picture
This girl totally drinking wine only. Chilled the afternoon away and before we know it, the sun was setting already! We were so full from all the feasting so we decided to take a walk outside. Then we found this beautiful spot so photos time!!
Picture
Again totally posing while trying to hold back my laughter.
Picture
Picture
And totally failed.
It was such a lovely afternoon spent with the people I love, talking and laughing over good food! It was a pity Eb couldn't join us. But there is always next time because I would totally want to come back here! :) So glad I discovered this place; hopefully y'all come spend some time here with your families and friends too!
