Getting married means you celebrate your birthday thrice! At least I was very VERY lucky to have everyone celebrate with me ❤️ On Saturday, it was 元宵节 & since Ahlao and I are married now, we went over to my in laws’ place early so I could perform my duties as a 台湾媳妇 🤗 My MIL & FIL always prefer having home cooked meals around their round dining table during important festivals cos it means a lot to them when we 团圆! They don’t ever request that I do ANYTHING (in fact they always treat me like a 贵宾 & always make it a point to include my favourite food everytime we gather) but Ahlao and I always try to chip in in terms of preparation. It’s always a family effort. For example if they cook, we always help to do the dishes after meals. And then last Sat, we helped to cook! When I stepped into the kitchen, all the vegetables have already been cut and washed for me, and I only had to stir fry them 😌 Tbh although I cook a lot at home, I’m still a bit nervous when I cook for my in laws cos they legit eat food with no salt or oil most of the time. But I kent la. I must at least add a bit of oyster sauce lol. Glad everyone still enjoyed the dishes! :) After dinner, I was in the kitchen doing stuff when Ahlao took a box out of the fridge. I knew it was a kek but it never crossed my mind that it was for me cos my MIL is a huge kek fan and she always buys kek!! She always serves us different keks from Chateraise when we come home, so I rly didn’t suspect anything! Even when Ahlao took the kek out, I was like “wew cheesekek!” 😂 Until I saw the ‘happy birthday’ words on the chocolate and then I was like “omgah! 是给我的吗?” 😅  Thankful for in laws who are ever so nice to me!! Although I could never treat them like my own birth parents (I mean, I could never say hi by grabbing my MIL’s boobs like I do to my own nya nya 😂), but I love them like family too. And I know I’m really lucky that they treat me so well & welcomed me with open arms and no drama from the very first day 😛 非常感恩!!! 💕  Look at gubiebao’s eggcited face here! So cute 😍 Yes that’s our wedding sticker in the background cos they’re still not over the joy of me marrying into the family 😂🤣 And yes we always bring Gooby over to meet his ‘grandparents’ hahaha! Unless we are heading out for lunch! But if we eat at home, he usually tags along hehe. He’s just so eggcited every weekend when we take him out cos he loves car rides! Oh which reminds me!  How cute are these pictures 😁 His papa wound down the windows so gubiebao could enjoy the breeze and boy he todali did!! Look at that happy grin!  Small small dog in a big big world 🌎  Messy hair don't care!  Ohh the hair tangles were such a pain but anything for my baby ❤️ -- On Sunday, Ahlao accompanied me to work (it was my shift!) and we todali baked cookies for ourselves hahaha. Been so long since I had a chewy cookie myself and gosh it was so gud! We went home to pick Gooby after work and then headed to my folks' for our weekly gathering! Every Sunday, my Nya Nya surely cooks up a feast for everyone and I look forward to every meal!  GOSH ALL MY FAVS. I miss her home cooked food so much ever since I moved out so this was a major treat! There was tempeh marinated with turmeric and garlic paste, stir fried bean sprouts with salted fish and tau kwa, sardines with lots of onions (just the way I like it!), and her new dish - steamed meatballs coated in glutinous rice! My nya nya really puts in a lot of effort to cook and feed us. That's how she expresses her love for us :') After dinner, Ahlao and I took Gooby for a walk downstairs before we came back up for our weekly mahjong sesh hehe. The weather was rly cooling that night; it was so nice. I didn't even realise Ahlao was texting the whole time but he was, with my sister, who was busy prepping my birthday surprise with my fam back at home! I am so dense really 😅 Seriously the easiest person to surprise!! When I came back, everyone burst into a birthday song for me; I was so shocked!! Funny thing is, I heard my niece crying so I ran from the door into the living room only to see my fam standing, surrounding a rly special kek (you'll see), clapping and laughing at my shocked face :')  Would you please check out my epic birthday kek!! A whole pile of my nya nya's legendary deep fried Nian Gao with yam and sweet potato! Srsly the best. And then the decoration.. I am speechless lol 😂😂😂 My fam truly knows me well HAHAHA! So shocked but I couldn't stop laughing the moment I saw this la!! So much love!!!  All of us together <3 Thank you all so much (especially Ahlao!!) for planning this :')) Y'all mean the world to me!!! Gooby here though 😂
-- Ahlao worked late tonight and I welcomed my 31st with Gooby in bed lol. My family also stayed up to text me at midnight :') My nya nya even dedicated a Facebook post to me (recently I've been feeling left out cos her feed is filled with pictures of my niece and yes I'm a jealous big baby!!!) & texted me at 0022 and said "this is the time you were born" and I todali cried in bed myself lol what a joke 😅 But sigh, a mother never forgets her first baby does she? I will always be her baby!!! :') As for tmr, Ahlao's taking me out and while I'm usually a very chill person, he is making me a bit eggcited cos he planned this like 2 months before and refused to tell me what we're going to do! I only know we are going to my favourite steak place for dinner (I like this place cos FRIESSS) and to Somerset before that hehe. CAN'T WAIT FOR SOME QUALITY TIME ALREADY! :p
